Random Toxicity

So I was playing some ranked 2's today and out of nowhere an opposing player said I suck. I asked him why he said that and his response was "you're toxic." I wasn't sure how I was being toxic by just playing the game. He then said that he played with me the other day and I was insulting him then. I hadn't played in 2 weeks so this was impossible. I also try to keep a level head when playing and place all the blame on myself generally, so this baffled me. I explained to him that it wasn't me and couldn't have been me to no avail. My teammate then joined in immediately and proceeded to rip my head off about how I was terrible so I don't know if this was a mind game or something. Mind you this person was a Season 3 Grand Champion so they had some skill. I wouldn't do this and am growing ever so tired of the levels of toxicity in this community. Why can't we all just get along we all enjoy the game and these people are starting to ruin it for me which is a shame. Just thought I'd share a simple story for all of you that will read this (which probably won't be that many).
