Codecademy and php - "what did i just learn"?

So i finished codecademies php course and its really great for learning the syntax and it has a short introduction to OOP - BUT:

I could literally do the things i've just done with every other object orientated programming language. The main reason why people are learning php (dealing with databases, servers, websites) is completely missing.

I feel kinda lost now. Where can i continue my quest to learn php? Websites? Books?

Thanks.
