Question on 1099 employment

So I'm currently salaried plus full benefits at about 80k. Bonus is around 7k per year.

Got an offer for contract position at 125k.

I hear a lot of recommendations to double your salary for 1099 work.

If i hit back with a request for 140k, is that a reasonable request + a bit of a raise?
