Description of problem

I have a 1 TB drive on which nothing is installed. The windows stuff is stored on a separate ssd. So far, i have created a partition out of the hdd with the 2 partitions at 328GB and 585GB. I had initially made a windows image on the hdd but then deleted the image after partition (just the old shift del deletion) now the 585GB drive is using up 50 GB of space but there is nothing there. I tried unhiding the files and all but it is empty like space. should i try to format it? anyone know what is using this space?
