Illuminotech

First, could someone please update me with the real world application of the ideas being developed here. I know there are many people trying to solve the problems we are embedded in to the best of their abilities using technology and software. At this point I'm convinced the problems we face are mostly technical issues. Given a platform of "free speech" as was the case with reddit when it was originally formed, I think over time the external threats to that freedom naturally generate more advanced methods of protecting that freedom... You unless the fascists win and digitally stomp on our faces for all of eternity.

I have recently felt that with VR, we can enhance the identities of people to such a degree that people could design the image of their higher self, which digitally is free of the limitations of this reality. I believe this could be a common ground from which to further enhance the core of the individual, while also creating a healthy balance with the collective. What I envision is VR that is connected to the best sattelite imagery/3d models of earth we can get our hands on, and then using the endless archives of 3d models created for gaming and movies to engineer avatars of our choosing. We then become some sort of race of illuminated digital angels floating above city scapes observing the world as it unfolds, analyzing and discussing it in our newly enhanced electric bodies which are capable of infinite speeds, teleportation, invisibility... etc etc.. basically we become the elusive ufo's that are so "commonly" seen around the world.

We need to fuse the artist community, the writing community, the gaming community, the activist community, the academic community into something that is able to understand and utilize each others strengths allowing the free flow of information to eventually direct the way we unfold our future.

We need some new system which allows us to fuse all the aspects of our identity with the environment in new ways. To collect in new ways, higher ways. We need to be able to observe space, star systems, and celestial bodies as a group and discuss them. For pleasure, for communion, for a breath of fresh air for the future and what may come, to bind us towards higher ideals. Same for discussing the way humans interact across the planet, what is wrong and what is right. Nothing is wrong with the mediums we have here and there, but to say reddit, facebook, irc, telegram and the plethora of others are complete would be more than a stretch, especially as the spectacle creeps deeper and deeper into them. Soon our ability to even use stylesheets in reddit will be removed and custom sub design will largely be dismantled. The "people" of reddit have lost the battle, and maybe we need to stop pretending it was ever ours to begin with and realize what we need will require more work than we ever imagined, but it would be the most meaningful work we could ever do in our lives.

Bridge the gaps, as many as we can into a single platform centered around communicating in a "borderless" unbound world and our universe and I believe the freedom experienced will be captivating enough to further this ball that is clearly already snowballing.

There is much hope, despite the poisonous rain, don't be fooled. Stay healthy and alive, we need you all to make this happen whether it is what I have suggested or some other far more reasonable idea lol. We will pull through this together.
