Who thinks Origins will have gate travel?

Discussion

I have seen a few posts on here postulating that due to the story focusing on Catherine's young self, there won't be any gate travel. I believe otherwise, and here is why:

u/fwscateboard said it was "specifically mentioned that it will somehow resolve Langford’s lack of memory". This means that her young self sees something that her movie-age self thinks she sees for the first time, and my bet is on that being gate activation. Origins will probably explain away the memory loss with a sci-fi solution.

The trailer itself also supports the case for gate travel. While the trailer was mostly scenes from the movie, the one image original to Origins is the poster of the gate, and the gate is active.

Also, there is a lot we don't know about the history of the DHD. SG-1 never explained why the Germans had the DHD when the Russians confiscated it at the end of WWII. They could explore that here. Odds are, the DHD was buried along with the gate, and since the archaeological team was digging in a large area around the gate itself, it would make sense if they uncovered that too. What if they use it to open the gate? All they would need is a gate address on any of the other artifacts they dug up, and away they go.

I am starting to think that the writer's hands aren't as canonically tied as I initially thought. There really are a lot of possibilities here which could produce an amazing standalone story, and I am starting to get hyped.

What do you all think? What other things could Origins do to make an amazing addition to the Stargate franchise?
