Am I crazy for thinking that Annihilationism is the most Biblical view?
After thinking and researching the topic, I have come to the conclusion that Annihilationism is the most Biblical view; however, much of what I see in real life and online seem to disagree, usually toward a more traditional view of Hell. However, there is seemingly endless Biblical support for the idea of the destruction of the damned.
On the Fate of the Damned: Psalm 92:7
7 that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
2 Peter 2:6
6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;
Psalm 37:2
2 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
Matthew 3:10
10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
John 15:6
6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
Matthew 7:13
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
2 Peter 3:7
7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
1 Thessalonians 5:3
3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
Matthew 10:39
39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
On Conditional Immortality: 1 Timothy 6:16
16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.
John 10:28
28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
Romans 2:7
7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
1 Corinthians 15:42-43
42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;
Galatians 6:8
8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
To me it seems that the only reasonable conclusion of all these verses is Annihilationism. Am I wrong in that? Is there something I am missing?
