HDD wont show up when trying to install windows but shows in BIOS

Solved

-FIX- Issue solved. My problem was a bad sataport and having the settings in bios in IDE instead of HCIA. Hopes this helps anyone with this kind of problem in the future!! Leave a comment if it does I'd be happy to know haha :)

-UPDATE- Alright i have an update. So took some advice and installed windows successfully onto the HDD on my brother's computer. The drive was recognized and I was able to install windows 10 onto it and use the system.

BUT, when I took the HDD out and put it into my rig, even tho it recognizes the HDD is there, it says, "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and press a key" It seems the HDD is still giving me problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Before the MOBO enters BIOS, it does a drive check and shows the HDD as appearing, but once I go into BIOS and select Standard CMOS Features (Set Time, Datem Hard Disk Type...) SATA 1-4 all say, "Not Detected".

-ORIGINAL POST-

I just picked up some old parts from a friend and bought a few more to try and build a rig. Everything is working fine except for the HDD. It is a WD 2T Blue 5400 RPM HDD and in the BIOS, it is recognized and marked as functional. But when I try to install Windows via USB, when it comes time to select a drive to install to, the HDD will not appear. I tried taking the drive out and putting in my brother's gaming rig, and it works fine, I even formatted and partitioned it. And yet, windows still refuses to recognize it. I have no idea what to do. I checked the SATA cables and everything is working fine. The drive is not damaged and the cables are working. I did see another thread with a similar problem, and some people said when they put the Windows USB into the case USB ports instead of the MOBO usb ports that the drive become recognizable. My case is not here yet, so I can't test that option, I only have the MOBO usb ports. Any help you could give me would be absolutely amazing!
