There's a great movie in there somewhere...

They have a great movie in the can, but the editors could not get it out. The movie could easily be 30 minutes shorter, and I would juxtapose the serenity of Mul with the space battle going on outside, introduce Clive Owen as the villain in there early and we'd get some sense to what our characters are involved in, less of their bickering and more subtle tension, less exposition and more mystery, and less of Bubbles horrible dialogue. Also Valerian running through the city made no spacial sense whatsoever, a cool visual lost on nonsense. The whole Laureline rescue was kind of unessesary, that's something I would have rewritten, not much editors can do about that. Just some thoughts.
