I used to turn compost with something just like it when I was a kid.

Maybe a compost tiller, but I couldn't find a similar example.

Any chance it is part of an old [yard torch](https://www.wayfair.com/Good-Directions-Garden-Torch-GDD1966.html)

Way too heavy (iron) for lifting overhead all day & doesn't look like any I've ever seen.

Looks like a catch basket for picking fruit from trees, like apples or avocados.

Really bad scalp massager.

Or maybe a claw cultivator kind of tool

Thanks for the replies, I can't find anything similar online. It looks old because it's rusted, thinking it is a fruit catcher picker. Not exactly solved though.

Is it a manual aerator? Walk around your yard stabbing it with that thing?

Found metal thing
