[MAIN SPOILERS] So imagine this...
The Long Night has never happened.. yet.
I heard of a theory that Bran was actually the original Brandon the Builder, this was hard to grasp at first until it was explained to me that Bran can "fly" through time and space. Not just warging or green seeing but actual time travel. I understand that this is kinda outlandish and weird, maybe even completely wrong, but I don't think it is. So assuming that bran can in fact travel in time and change the past (or rather continue the loop that he is stuck in) and he is the original Brandon the Builder maybe to prepare the for the future he starts telling stories of the events to take place in the future. By this I mean that he is the one who started the story of The Long Night and how the White Walkers are coming (and of course the famous "Winter is Coming"). Maybe this is the first time The Nights King has attacked. I mean how can someone so powerful have lost before? Maybe he hasn't...
If you still aren't interested or are confused about how this could possibly be, Hodor is a good example of how Bran can travel through time and create a loop. Hodor was made by Bran. Hodors whole purpose in life was to hold the door for Bran while he could escape and continue on to fight The Nights King. Bran was in both the present and the past doing multiple things. Hodor could see Bran in the past, and the 3ER knew this would happen. The 3ER needed Hodor to see him so that when meera says to Bran to warg into hodor in the present to hold the door that it actually happens. Thus fulfilling the purpose of everyone in the scene except Bran. Holy fuck GoTs is a master piece.
Now how about all the tales that have been told before about Azor Ahai and The Last Hero, or even the Mad King (Queen in this instance). They are happening again like they were told they would.. from the past.. a prophecy. But its already happened in the future. How about the tale that old nan tells Bran about a cursed place (hardhome) haunted by demons ghosts and gouls with a taste for living blood. Old Nan tells all of the stark children this tale, but the events that took place actually happened after she told the tale. Not before.
GRRM has said that the end of the book is outlined in the first book.
Bran is the end game.
I could answer questions if you have any, I know this is ended some what open ended but im drunk so fuck it, and the queen!
Edit: A few things that I should have mentioned in this post (damn drunk me, I hate that guy)
*Bran eventually goes back far enough to get stuck in the past and gets captured by the children. They expiriment on his chest with the dragons glass. The reason why he goes back so far is to try and prevent the nights king from ever being made, and in turn he himself is made into the nights king. the 3ER makes a big point about showing that to him. I think this is because he was showing him his fate, and this is a good reason for the nights king to want to get revenge on the 3ER. i.e. back tracking all the way from hardhome to the cave the 3ER is in.
*The stories that get told change over time because even though Bran starts them people are still people and embellish on them
*Bran as we know him in the book and show is in the beginning of the loop. So things that are yet to happen, that most people agree are going to happen, they just aren't sure on how yet... well here's how I think it will happen. Bran went back in time with the 3ER to see the first man being changed into TNK (who is Bran) during that scene we see somethings that leads me to believe that Bran is being shown what is going to happen to him by the 3ER. When Leaf is about to stab the dragons glass through the chest of the man (bran in the future/past) it cuts to bran gripping the vine, just like how the man in the tree was. his body is in the same position as the man and when it goes back to the cave you can see Leaf showing the same emotion she was when she stabbed him. Here is a clip so you can see for yourself
*Being that bran is still in the beginning of his life loop thingy, it stands (unlike Bran! ha) to say that Bran will destroy the wall in the future, like many people think after he was marked by TNK. This would make him Bran the Breaker. After the wall falls and all the stories unfold like Azor Ahai and The Last Hero and Lan the Clever, Bran must try to regroup everyone and rebuild the Wall. Becoming the Legend Bran the Builder.
*if you're unsure of how bran could be the nights king because the nights king can in fact stand and walk, so can bran when he is "flying" so him being captured in a time travel thingy would make sense because the nights king walks and shit
Hope this edit answers some of your questions and raises even more
Edit 2: So my observations from last nights episode. (S07E03)

When Bran is talking about what happened above the wall with Sansa he mentions that he's the 3ER and then goes back and says he was traveling with the 3ER and Sansa gets confused. Asking him that she thought he was the 3ER and he simply answers that it's complicated. Now I know that his could just be a simple answer because he's tired and doesn't want to go into detail about it or something. But I think it's because when he became the 3ER he might have learned that he was always the 3ER and he thinks that she won't understand because of how unbelievable it is and kinda complex (this is Sansa after all lol)...
-
Another observation I had was that Bran seemed... Depressed? Not really even caring about being back. Maybe this is because of the knowledge he gained?

Littlefinger. This one was kinda unexpected and might not have anything to do with it. But when he is talking with Sansa he says that she needs to fight every battle. Not only physically but in her mind. He says "EVERY POSSIBLE SERISE OF EVENTS IS ALWAYS HAPPENING" this is kinda huge I think. Like is this the show actually saying that a loop is very much happening? All the time? Here's a link to hear what he says.
One of the big problems with the theory was that it was going to be hard to explain to casual viewers and kids were going to be stuck trying to explain shit to there parents (like I would be lol) and that it could take away from the shows story if it got too complex. Maybe this is a subtle way of preparing people for the possibility? I know this is a stretch. But it fits in with the theory.
I'm interested in the communities thoughts on all this. It seems more and more plausible. Who knows though. Just a theory for now.
just saying....
