Nvidia Drivers not being recognized on Desktop
Out of nowhere today, my Windows 7 desktop crashed and would not reboot correctly. I let it try repairing itself but it said it could not repair itself, so I force shut it down since my keyboard and mouse were not working on the screen. It kept restarting when I tried holding the power button down (to force shut it down) and I had to unplug it to get it to stop.
After, it was able to boot, however my resolution is locked at 800x600 (my monitor is 1920x1080) and in Device Manager, my graphics card (GTX 760) has the yellow ! sign on it with: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" as the device status.
I've uninstalled the graphics driver (which made the screen get even more fucked up, with bad coloring and even lower resolution) and it only reverted back to the current status of 800x600 after reinstalling drivers. However it still has the code 43 under Device Manager.
I'm pretty sure this is a problem with my monitor since uninstalling and resintalling my graphics drivers didn't do anything. I've unplugged and replugged my monitor already but that hasn't done anything. I would really appreciate some help, as I'm already going through some other stressful IRL stuff and this piling on just makes things much worse.
My specs are:
i5-4570 3.20 GHz GTX 760 8GB RAM 64 bit OS
So I initially posted this on TH last night. Since then,
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the Nvidia drivers maybe 1 or 2 times, and have tried some other various things in between
but right now im at the point where trying to install my drivers gives mt the error "nVidia installer cannot continue the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"
so i downloaded CPU-Z and it recognizes my 760 under the Graphics tab, but doesnt give me any options to enable it or whatever
also something else thats changed is that under my Device manager Display Adapters, theres now a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter", and its no longer showing my graphics card with the yellow ! (its not there at all, even if i scan for hardware changes)
i just restarted after updating the VGA drivers through device manager (it said it recognized it as the 760?) but it still isnt showing the 760 under Display Adapters
And now, I get this issue when I try installing the Nvidia drivers again: https://i.gyazo.com/53f77317e025a40efff3cbb6393e05f0.png
