Critique my Strategy
Playing a level 7 Occultist Arcanist (22 INT, Spell Focus Conjuration, Augmented Summoning, Improved Initiative).
Idea:
-
First summon a creature (I usually go for Hound Archons, but this is situational).
-
Then cast Flaming Sphere
-
Then cast Aqueous Orb
My thought process is that at the end of this, I end up with at least one creature, and 2 orbs, and I can use all of these to help control the enemies actions. I can direct each orb as a move action and 5ft step as needed (double move instead of move + standard), or I can forgo moving one of them and cast another spell if necessary.
Is this a decent strategy, or is it expending too many resources to accomplish something that could be accomplished another way? I'm not a fan of the heightened communal mount + alter summoned monster cheese, so I'm trying to come up with another strong strategy.
I'm pretty well-versed in the pathfinder system, but still getting the hang of playing a full caster tactics-wise.
