Why are my seeds transparent?

I was eating my first cayenne I grew, and when I looked inside, it had a rather brown colour. While some of the seeds were white, the brown colour was made up by a bunch of transparent seeds. Are they rotting, just new and not coloured yet, or something else? Pls help
