My deadlifts 1x5 are turning into 5x1. Is this acceptable?

Male/38yo/73kg/lifting for 8 weeks.

following the program as its dictated by the app. Did accelerated progression the first two weeks where I added twice the usual increment but did start with the emptry barbell.

  • Squat: 85kg
  • Deadlift: 95kg
  • Overhead Press: 35kg
  • Bench: 50kg
  • Pendlay Row: 60kg

OHP is a bit low because I deloaded to correct form (was not properly shrugging my shoulders at the top). Its a bit light atm but I am ok with that since my right shoulder is not the greatest. It will get heavy soon I am certain.

My question is about deadlifts. I am unable to perform the 1x5 set in quick succession. What I mean with that is that I have to take a breather and recompose myself in between reps. While i can do rep 1 and 2 in relatively quick succession after that I have to take a small break.

Essentially its turning from 1x5 into 5x1. I can perform the warm up sets in quick succession. Its just the working weight where I am struggling to keep up pace.

Is this acceptable? Or should I consider this a failed set and repeat this weight until I can perform them in (relatively) quick succession?

I'd love to hear what you think/is wise.
