Failed hip replacement revision? Informal second opinion required please!
Female patient. 60yrs+. Originally the lady came in for a hip replacement due to severe osteo arthritis. It was discovered after the surgery a leg length discrepancy was noticed. So the patient was rebooked for revision osteotomy surgery. Surgery was undertaken and the img linked is the post op xray. In osteotomy a gap is deliberatly created yes, however the structural rigidity of the fixings looks sub par to me. Is this how an osteotomy leg length fixing should look? Those 3 wires dont seem tight enough and how is the distal end of the femur not running a risk of rotating on the prosthesis?
Any ideas? Im kind of worried for the patient as the surgeon is saying its all fine after seeing the xray themself.
