Coconut Water Fast after 25-Day Water Fast?
In May I completed an 11 day water fast. I wanted to fast for 25 days, but my cravings got the best of me and I broke the fast. I lost about 15 lbs during that time, going from 206 lbs (F, 5'6.5) - 191 lbs.
My weight went up to about 197 lbs over the course of about 6 weeks. By the end of July I was able to get my weight back down to 192.0 lbs.
July 29 - 30, I did a lite fast with water, tea, and fruit. Bringing my weight from 192.0 - 186.0 as of this morning.
Today I am re-beginning a 25 day water fast (with 2000 mg sea salt) and trying to do as much research as possible in these beginning days as well.
After this fast, I would like to do a 45 day coconut water fast. I've done 2 week coconut water fasts in the past with no issues. I even felt full during these fasts and didn't miss food at all. Taking in 1 - 2 liters, 240 - 480 calories of coconut water per day. However, now I'm worried coconut water fasting may just be a form of intense calorie restriction, which I've read can actually be destructive to the body as opposed to water fasting. And can severely slow down the metabolism, whereas water fasting has much less of an impact.
I'd like to break my water fast and continue to lose weight to get down to ~ 125 lbs over 4 - 5 months or so. I know regaining a lot of weight is very easy post water-fast so I thought coconut water fasting would be the easiest, most sustainable way to lose those 35 lbs. I had then planned on increasing my calorie intake with 200 calories of solid food each week until I reached ~ 1500 calories after breaking the coconut water fast.
Is coconut water fasting a bad idea though? Would it be better to just jump into the solid food phase with steady increases each week?
