Two Wheel Gear or Arkell Bug? (Canada)
Hello everyone!
I'm treating myself to my first ever new bike! (Giant Rapid) I've always had used and improper sized hybrids, mountain bikes so I'm looking forward to it.
I'm looking for a Backpack/Pannier combo because 1) I sweat alot and 2) it will reduce my centre of gravity and weight load off my back = go faster.
I did some research here and it seemed like these two (especially the Bug) were well-regard. I also saw Orenlieb and North St. but they're aren't any dealers in Ottawa.
Wondering if anyone could share their thoughts on either:
Other than work clothes, I would also use it for the gym, soccer (so room for cleats and shin pads). Also for groceries as well.
The Bug is more expensive at CAD $199 + the rain cover ($20) and the Two Wheeled Gear is $145 and includes a rain cover.
I like the Bug and the helmet strap, but I'm not sure if it's worth the $70 premium over the two wheeled gear.
I am also wondering about Racks, can I just get standard racks or will I need to get a different rack depending on which pannier I choose?
Thanks
