Gen 3 - do people find this entertaining

I made a post about gen 2 and how I disliked it on here a while ago. Since then I have actually came around to liking it. But gen 3 is utter shit. The whole thing has been americanised and dumbed down. The story line is childish. None of the characters are relateable. Where is the edginess that makes Skins Skins? The drugs, the parties, the sex. This isn't the show I fell in love with. I can't get past episode 3, so I skipped ahead to series 7 which I quite enjoyed. Was disappointed with Effy's ending though
