Yes seal clubbing is a problem but forcing vets to create higher PS rigs isn't the solution
So I agree with everyone that seal clubbing is currently a bit of an epidemic in Crossout (though it's sounds like it's even worse on PC than on console, not surprisingly) however most of the proposed solutions I've seen discussed have to do with forcing vets to play only in higher PS builds (5k seems to be the spot where it starts being "acceptable" to build the most efficient rig you can).
To me this is ass backwards thinking. The joy of this game (for me at least) is to figure out how to build the best rig I can at any PS level. I love a fast rig that I can use to get behind the enemy and harass/distract them so that they're forced to fight on two fronts, enabling the main force of my team to pick off the stragglers from the front. As such, I've found that the sweet spot for that is in the 3k-5k PS range. Anything more than that, and I have to add too much armor just for survivability which in turn, adds too much weight to make the vehicle truly fast (I'm talking acceleration here).
So to me, the more obvious solution would be the break the modes up by overall player level. say:
- 1-10
- 11-20
- 21-30
- 30+
- and then have some 10+ modes for those that want to compete against stronger foes
This way, if you're level 30+ like me, you can still compete in some 3k matches without worrying that you are harming the game by seal clubbing.
The only issue I see with the above is that perhaps there aren't enough players yet to fill out those tiers consistently in which case maybe it grabs players +/- 5 levels to try and fill those last spots.
Anyway, I mostly created this post because I'd hate to see the devs go in the direction of forcing players into higher and higher PS scores artificially. Let us build and play whatever we want, just manage the matchmaking better. Also, I apologize if this idea has been brought up and discussed already, I haven't read all the "seal clubbing" posts as I can only read the same thing so many times ;)
