Sound Issue at Panorama

Wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience as me sound wise. Judging by most posts, I think I may have just been in a few bad areas.

I've seen Tame Impala probably 6 or 7 times now. Every show has been amazing, and they are probably my favorite live band right now. However, the sound for me was terrible. I started the set by sitting on the hill, stage right. The audio was coming at me in waves...it would sound loud and clear for a few seconds then all the highs would drop out and it would sound off. So I moved up into the crowd... in front of the wheelchair platform still stage right. Same issue...the sound was going in and out. Some times Kevin's voice would drop... sometimes the guitars/bass would drop, then it would phase back in and out.

Things sounded very off when they did The Less I Know the Better. Same problems with not hearing each instrument, and his voice going in and out. Also it seemed pretty clear they were playing to a track. I'm guessing they may have played to a track to sync with the light show. I may be crazy, but it sounded like a very light female recorded voice (or maybe someone off stage) backing Kevin's vocals.

After a few more songs my GF had to pee, so we took care of that and then moved to the center of the stage... maybe 100 feet behind the sound booth. Sounded maybe better here... but still almost felt like I was listening to a recording...no separation between each instrument.

Overall i was really disappointed because I've seen them many times and every time it was amazing. The visuals were totally awesome and I'm going to see them again as soon as I can but I feel like i got kinda screwed.

It seems like the sound right up front was amazing... did anyone have the same experience as me?
