Can we take a minute to appreciate that Suzuki Vs. Tama Tonga match?
That match was fucking awesome, the cocky, brash son of Haku with something to prove vs. the calculating monster Minoru Suzuki. Suzuki has been killing it this G1 and everyone's been waiting for Tama to prove himself and I think he did in this match.
Right from the beginning of the match Tama attacks El Desperado from behind and takes the Suzuki-Gun flag and walks behind Suzuki. Suzuki finally notices right before he gets into the ring and they proceed to fight outside the ring and in the crowd for a good 15 minutes. I mean they really gave the fans in the arena their money's worth, they went at it EVERYWHERE.
It was absolute insanity, they beat each other with everything but the kitchen sink. Tama's dropping F bombs, Kids are jumping over their seats to get away from them, Suzuki is tossing barricades around. Finally Suzuki manages to put away Tama with a Gotch Style Piledriver and screams in Tama's face as he scores the pinfall.
After the match, Tama manages to walk to the back as match Suzuki stares down the young lions and makes his selection and drags one of them to the entrance ramp and bashes him in the back to the tune of Kaze Ni Nare.
Sorry for the wall of text but this match was brutal and hilarious and while not the most technically sound match of the tournament, it's in the top 3 matches of the G1 so far for me.
