Apple removes VPN apps in China as Beijing doubles down on censorship
Hello elysium community,
There are probably other posts discussing this but I haven't seen any recently on this topic, and in light of today's news this trend of china increasing their censorship across the country seems to not be going anywhere. As demonstrated by apple today, tech companies are seemingly starting to comply with China's censorship requests so my questions to you experts/the community out there are :
1: according to the Chinese government is it illegal for the Chinese to play on wow private servers? I would guess that certain westernized territories such as Hong Kong might be legal but what about the bulk of the country? Is it illegal?
2: are the Chinese violating elysiums terms of use/agreement by playing a game that is deemed illegal by their government? If yes, is elysium itself legally liable for Chinese use and are they at risk of any type of prosecution because of this?
3: Will this have an effect on the Chinese population on wow private servers going forward? Specifically elysium?
4: in the event that private servers are illegal for Chinese to play, do you think that this will make them more aggressive in their efforts to hack and market their farming services? I ask this because this is human nature: if they know they are going down they will try and make every dollar before their accounts are closed meaning hacking, farming services, and maybe even ddos will increase until their doomsday.
5: in the event that Chinese are illegally playing on wow private servers, pursuant to their government, can elysium ban Chinese players? Is this a valid reason? Because I mean, they're breaking the law if that's the case.
6: is this a nonissue and will the Chinese continue to find ways to play on private servers despite government censorship?
Any answers, comments, and insights are appreciated.
