lets talk about roller coaster accidents

for example i was thinking the other day while on batman at Great America - god (or whoever) forbid something malfunctioned which resulted in the locking mechanisms of the OTSR being released, would the riders be able to hold themselves down? especially since batman is a pretty forceful ride and you pretty much feel glued to the seat the whole time, would you be able to hold the harness down and hopefully stay put for the rest of the ride? i don't ever really worry about something like happening but on rides like raging bull i do wonder how that would play out. i've been thinking about this a lot the past weeks and was wondering what kind of fail safes are in place to prevent this from happening. or if something like this WERE to happen, would the the positive G's of the ride cause you to stay put? which coasters would be the worst to be on if this were to happen? or which would be the best? what's the worse thing that could really even happen on a roller coaster you know?
