Nerves got me ...
I finally took a discovery flight over the weekend and obtained a shiny green 1.1 hours! Im looking to obtain my PPL and eventually an IFR rating for recreational flying. There were moments where I felt in control and excited but also times where I thought about being on the ground especially when asked to perform a 60kt climb in a 152. I have no idea why my mind had other reasoning as to why we shouldn't. I eventually made it to that climb rate but was very hesitant and felt very nervous. I started thinking of all the management that has to be done while flying (radios, direction, level flight, observing for traffic, landing patterns etc.) and felt overwhelmed and a bit disoriented. Overall, there were moments during the flight where I was second guessing my decisions to pursue flight school. I was a bit disappointed and let down in how I was feeling. After we touched down, I wanted to go back up and conquer my nerves. I guess what Im trying to find out is if anyone has felt this and continued only to find that the nerves were temporary or any similar experiences.
