Finally it feels like Team 5 is no longer playing it "safe" with design.
This set is the first time I feel that the design of cards is going a bit outside the box we've been in the past three years.
We a new mechanic (lifesteal) that is being utilized on a lot of cards. (Yes the mechanic existed on a few cards, but wasn't prominent).
We have an actual MILL (to use a Magic the Gathering term) card that could wreck an opponent's combo by discarding it off the top of their deck.
They continue to make "Tutor" (to use another Magic term) cards. Cards that pull a card out of your deck via discover or draw. Key in making decks "work" without relying simply on draw RNG.
They are making "shutdown" cards. Cards that increase spells cost, cards that just shutdown hero powers.
They added a whole new card type in Heroes (and quests last set) that open up new playstyles or deck archetypes.
We'll see how all these cards play out in decks, but it is nice to see some variety!
And who knows what else they reveal.
Thoughts? Agree/Disagree?
