Orbital strike can no longer target conventional bases?
I remember that in a test server it was possible to hit a regular base with a orbital strike. Someone did it for a biolab fight in there.
So I went ahead and unlocked this giant paperweight broomstick on live, built one next to Bastion in Amerish gleefully rubbing my hands together. Kept the damn thing alive and fueled for the next half a hour ... stars align right and there is even a fight in Bastion. Grab LA, grab the targeting dart - get close (that thing needs to be basically in knife range to work, wtf?), shoot my dart and ... cant target no-construction zones? WTF? When did THIS happen? 2k certs wasted it seems.
What is the supposed usage scenario for this thing? Waiting the blue moon so that the big blob of tanks set up a camp on a nearby hill while you sneak up on them with that short range targeting dart?
Edit: And on top of that this thing is a "generator" and you can't build HIVE within 500m of an orbital strike gen? Which, if my past experience is correct also means that you can not built orbital strike gen within 500m of an enemy HIVE? I have been unable in the past to place my own Silo for a siege base because enemy Silo counts as silo as well apparently and enemy turrets also exude your own turret from constructing in the middle of enemy base.
