Utah Jazz had a Top-3 Defense (by DRtg) last year and arguably improved their defense this off-season.

Only one team that finished top-3 in DRtg since DRtg has been tracked (since 1985-1986) has missed the playoffs, the 2001-2002 Miami Heat.

Given the historical precedent, it is highly unlikely the Jazz are a top-3 defense and miss the playoffs. And given their roster, the Jazz should be a top-3 defense again, barring injury.
