Graphic performance on KVM / Virtualization?
I'm curious what folks use to virtualize Windows for those cases where WINE doesn't work. I was using VirtualBox but then switched to KVM which seems to have improved some things, but made graphical performance worse or at least that seems to be what is slow. I'm using SPICE to connect to it.
My specific use case here is Lightroom 6. Compared to booting into Windows, it's noticeably laggy, albeit is compounded by virtualizing multiple monitors. I'm giving it 4 CPUs, 8GB of RAM, and 64MB of VRAM for each virtual video card. This is on a Ryzen machine and I'm on 4.11.8 (custom compiled) using Linux Mint 18.1.
I'd like to stick with something open source like KVM over VirtualBox or VMWare but definitely want something more snappy than what I currently have.
Any thoughts on how to make graphic performance mo betta?
