(Texas) Couple trying to take full advantage of their bankruptcy. Please tell me they will get in some kind of trouble.
My wife has a friend that like to air all her dirty laundry and I have been following this situation for years now. They have been cheating the food bank, food stamps, and now TANF. I am hoping this escapade will finally be the one that gets them busted.
They stopped paying their car payments, student loans and most of the credit cards over a year ago, with the intent to file for bankruptcy. They are filing sometime this month. With that in mind they kept the last credit card open, and blew it all out to max last week. First, they paid 3 months rent in advance. They went to a Sams club and filled up two carts, then went to separate cashiers and paid separately to make it look suspicious. The bank canceled both cards immediately assuming that they had been stolen.
They believe that all of the debt they have intentionally racked up will just disappear off of their records once the bankruptcy goes through. Please tell me they will not get away with it.
