Is the F2 a bit too strong?
Forgive any formatting issues, I'm on mobile.
Its rather obvious that the F2 is one of the more powerful weapons available to Siege's attackers, but I think that its just a little bit too strong. It has everything an assault rifle needs - strong damage, a decent rate of fire, good accuracy and easily manageable recoil. The issue with the F2 is that it has all of these. The F2 has recoil that is quite easy to control, making it easy to land headshots with. That's not an issue, it means players need to have at least some accuracy in order to be able to effectively use the F2. However, it also has a recoil pattern that in most circumstances, allows the player to simply ignore it, as the recoil pattern of the F2 basically leads to the enemy's head. The lack of much horizontal recoil only makes spraying land more headshots. The F2 also does a decent amount of damage in each shot, so a headshot isn't always necessary to kill an opponent as the F2 is accurate and fires quickly enough to at least put a peeker on ~30 health.
Because of all of the F2's strengths, it isn't very fun to try and win a gunfight against Twitch. You can't peek her, because the F2 is too accurate and you can't rush her, as the F2 fires too quickly and does too much damage to kill her before she kills you. This leaves flanking or denying her entry with something like Smoke's beauties, which isn't really a method of bating her, merely a way of stalling for time. Only being able to kill Twitch with consistency by flanking her isn't very fun, and forces a certain way of playing the game.
Finally, the F2 is a gun available on Twitch, who has (arguably) one of the most useful gadgets on the attacking team. Her drone can take out Jäger's ADS to help Fuze (and Thatcher in some cases) it can destroy Kapkan's EDDs, it can take out cameras without revealing the attackers' location and is an effective tool against the Bandit trick. Twitch is able to do all this and be an effective killing tool with the F2. Should she really be allowed both?
Thanks for reading this rant-discussion thing, I appreciate you taking the time out of your day.
