Essential DC One Million tie ins (and a few other Morrison JLA questions)

I'm re-reading my way through the Morrison/Waid run of JLA and was curious about more of the events going on during the story.

In particular, I'm hitting the point where DC One Million event. I've read the miniseries, but it really cuts out a lot of the major events, like following the various heroes on their quests, etc. Which of the tie-ins are actually part of the story?

Also, when did Hippolita take over as Wonder Woman, and when did Superman turn blue?
