Single 48 inch TV or Triple Monitors for a rig?

I have a 48 Inch TV that I'm not really using for anything. Currently using a 21 inch monitor on my desk with my wheel on it. Looking to get a rig and possibly use the 48 inch with it, but I'm not sure if it's too big. My other option would be to sell it and use the money to buy 3 smaller monitors.
