[Feedback Request] Guilty Conviction

Does the jury know what follows the conviction?
After the thump that hits the wooden plate?

What lingers after the metal gates?
The shocking orange tones against defeated faces.

Where the days start and end in dusk.
The dark moonlight blindfolding.

Listening to the crickets that chip churp.
That this is a place far from home.

Where snitches dine next to their spoken confession. Only one out of the two will be able to leave sooner.

If you can't stand one week, how are you going to stand a month?
What do you think will happen when their time is up?

Will they ever feel like their time is up?
A foot on the pavement into a depressed economy.
There are no choices for a convict like me.

No local shop or restaurant will feel the same.
Family and friends have all strayed away.

Now forever alone in a small efficiency.
I still sleep uneasy for how liberty treated me.
