Building a new rig with some old parts - advice needed

Build Help

This is what I'm buying:

CPU: i7 7700k

GPU: GTX 1080 Ti (Aorsus-- recommendations on best reseller would be appreciated).

Motherboard: MSI Z270 SLI plus

RAM: Corsair 16GB DDR4 3000mhz

Case: H440 (NZXT)

I'm building the PC using my old PSU (A 600W OCZ Mod X Stream-pro) and my current SSD/HDD. I need advice on whether this PSU will support these new components (it's from 2012) and I need help choosing an aftermarket CPU cooler as I never bought any. Noise level is my preference, the lower the noise the better. I won't be doing any extreme overclocking as it will be first time attempting it.

For the 1080 ti you will need two 8 pin pci-e power connectors I believe. If you have 2 you will be fine with your old PSU, and storage of course is always fine for re-use.

I'm pretty sure it has 2 connectors -- I'm using a GTX 670 and I believe that takes 2.

Okay, just ensure that you have two 8s before you spend over $700. You wouldn't want to get the GPU then have to wait for a new power supply to use it!

Where is your PcPartPicker link?

Wattage is only half the specs of a PSU, need it's model name as well.

If it's good quality, it should be fine to keep.

I changed some stuff from the original post, like the RAM and mobo.

Also apparently my psu is a 600W OCZ Mod X Stream-pro https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017

I'm still using that exact PSU. It's an older model but still quite good.

You should be good to go, everything looks good.

Thanks, I just need to decide on a CPU cooler. Should I go for broke and get a liquid cooler like a NZXT Kraken or is it overkill?

You're doing a high end build, so might as well get a high-end cooler.

The 7700k needs a ton of cooling if you aren't going to delid, so the Kraken is not overkill at all unless you have no intention of overclocking.
