you are not in my heart)as if you could
be ever held
                                                      a captive
somewhere in this bird-cage chest.you
are both cage and dove and flight itself,and who
could cage up whole horizons?
 
and whatever is done to you alone
is done to us together.whatever you choose
for only you is also a part of me.
for each of your loves are all my loves.
your dreams are my dreams,my dream,my only.
but this is the lightning that grows in my veins.
this is the shivering wound in our sky
and the infinite pulse at the heart of our stars–
 
you are not only in my heart,(my heart.
you are my heart.
