A Layman's Guide to King's Raid Heroes
This is not meant to be a tiering guide, or a comparison. In a game like this, you don't rate heroes as a unit. Hero strength is based off team composition and the area they are used in.
This guide is outdated as of the chapter 7 patch, a new one will hopefully be made once I get a hang of what's going on because right now everything is a massive clusterfuck. I am also a lazy person.
This is just to provide new, or existing players, a rough idea of what they're getting into if they plan on choosing a hero. All story modes are doable with any hero, even the shitty ones. The issue many players face with hell mode is a damage issue. But, by then you should understand the game more and can come to your own logical conclusions without relying on guides and whatnot. As a rule of thumb though, if a hero performs well as a dealer, they tend to perform well in Hell mode.
The formatting looks like god awful garbage on mobile, but that's not my fuck to give.
And honestly, I spent way too long on this. Heading to bed, will probably proofread and update more info according to comments in 24hs or so. Probably.
Knights | Area of Best Performance | Role | Specialty | Additional Notes ---|---|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|---- Clause | Physical Damage Raids | Physical Damage Focused Tank, Minor Team Damage amp | Helping your team not die to physical damage they'd otherwise die to | Free, reduces enemy defense, and comes with a pretty nifty slow as well. Amazing in the newly released world boss. Demia | PvP | Physical Damage Focused Tank, Opponent Backline Disrupter | Pulling the enemy healer into the frontlines during PvP | Pretty good in PvP, not so much anywhere else. She's not bad or anything, and she does her job as a tanker well enough. Phillop | Raids | Really just a general Tank, Physical Damage Amplifier | Making your physical dealers hit insane dps numbers | People mostly use him because he amps up physical damage by quite a fair bit. Morrah | Magic Damage Raids | Magical Damage Focused Tank | Helping your team not die to magical damage they'd otherwise die to | Does a lot more damage than someone of her role is expected to do. Not that much, so don't pick her if you're looking for damage. She's still a tank. Jane | Raids | General Tank, Magic Damage Amplifier | Not dying when she is killed, and making your magical dealers hit insane dps numbers | People mostly pick her because she's a cutie, but she's pretty useful in magic damage heavy teams.
So you've got your 5 Knights. 1 Phys Sponge, 1 Magic Sponge, 1 Phys Amp, 1 Magic Amp, 1 PvP. Pretty balanced.
Warriors | Area of Best Performance | Role | Specialty | Additional Notes ---|---|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|---- Kasel | Everywhere | Dodge Tank, Lifesteal Tank | Only fucker with an undispellable CC immunity. Comes with a 25% speed and dodge buff, as well as an attack buff that is probably almost as high as your base damage, because why the hell not. | Free, Free UW. He starts off extremely weak and most often replaced, but when he has the gear and the skills, this guy works in any content. Not as well other specialized characters, but well enough. Oh, and he has undispellable CC immunity, did I mention that before? Gau | Every-fucking-where | Tank, CC, Support | Solo-stunning the dragon, cleansing whatever nasty debuff on you in PvP and PvE| Vespa already said that his 3rd skill being able to solo-stun the dragon will not be nerfed, but they will also not release other heroes like him anymore. There you have it folks, the first and the last of his kind. Pick him if you want to solo your dragon raids. Currently Meta. Naila | PvP | Tank, Disrupter | Being a fucking nuisance to the enemy team in PvP | Decent everywhere else, pretty damn good in PvP. Currently Meta. Viska | ? She's still new, but I heard she's pretty decent in PvP | Tank, Magic Damage Amp | Magic Damage Amp. Basically a warrior version of Jane. Less tanky, more hurty. | Pretty new. Has a single target dispel which tends to always go on the enemy tank in PvP, but in raids is pretty good
4 Warriors. Knights are generally preferred in PvE as they are tankier and carry the T2 perk Experienced Fighter (Attacked targets take 20% increased damage), but Warriors tend to have their place in PvP where their increased utility makes for a better teampiece.
Assassins | Area of Best Performance | Role | Specialty | Additional Notes
---|---|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----
Roi | Single Target DPS | Main DPS | Dude hits fucking hard. | Free. Most often the first character to be replaced, but if you like him, he's actually really fucking good once he has the proper gear. Needs UW.
Reina | Single Target DPS | Main DPS | Fuck if I know She scales extremely well with stars on her UW. | Actually pretty good when she's not busy sticking to the tank in PvP or getting herself killed by stray damage in PvE. If by some miracle she manages to place herself in the enemy backline, and the tank is nowhere in the vicinity, you've pretty much won that match. Really needs her UW. Preferably with stars on it.
Epis | Everywhere | Assassin | An assassin with AoE | If she manages to activate her passive multiple times before the dragon lands for phase 2, that's some very nice dps numbers you're going to be seeing with her. Has defense-ignore on her 1st skill, so a decent pick for Hell Mode.
Fluss | PvP | Assassin | Killing Mages | He makes for a decent magic tank as well.
Tanya | Every-fucking-where | Balance Breaking | Everything She can't tank, she can't heal, but she can do pretty much everything else. | On Vespa's list of "needs a nerf". If you don't really care, she's one of the best heroes you can ever pick with her damage and utility. Vespa is not known to neuter heroes through nerfs, so you can go ahead and pick her anyway if you like her for who she is. (Author's bias. She shines a lot better in PvP than in PvE. In fact, she stacks CC resist on guild raid bosses extremely quickly with her skills. That doesn't mean she's bad though, she's still a really good choice with her high damage.) Currently Meta.
Assassins assassinate. The only one not known to do that is Reina, and that's because she is unable to jump onto heroes she can actually kill. Buff Reina pls.
If you want to be that guy, assassin tanks do somewhat work.
Archers | Area of Best Performance | Role | Specialty | Additional Notes
---|---|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----
Selene | DPS | Main DPS | Dealing damage | Needs UW. Does damage. She's a bit like Reina, except ranged so she doesn't die to an errant attack, and actually has a minuscule amount of aoe, instead of none at all.
Dimael | Everywhere | Sub DPS, CC Dealer | Being McEdgelord a decent hero | He fits well into any team, and is decent in just about everywhere. Not as good as specialists in their fields, but pretty decent. Can ignore defense, so is a decent pick for hell mode. Did I mention he's pretty decent?
Luna | Everywhere | Main DPS | 100% crit down debuff | Good in PvP, good in Raids. She's good.
Arch | Every-fucking-where | Balance Breaking | Not dying when he is killed. Defense ignore. | Confirmed to be reworked by Vespa. For now though, he's a high utility hero with high damage and a second life in PvP. One of the best choices for hell mode farming because of his defense ignore. Currently meta.
Nothing to say about archers. They make for some good dealers.
Mechanics | Area of Best Performance | Role | Specialty | Additional Notes ---|---|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|---- Rodina | Killing the fuck out of things | Main DPS | Nuking the fuck out of things | Her damage is bullshit high. Not so good in PvP where she's liable to getting stunned, but if you can protect her with a Baudouin or something you'll win the game in the press of a 3. Currently meta. Lakrak | Everywhere | Sub DPS, CC Dealer | Has CC on all his skills. | His 3rd skill stuns your entire backline in PvP if it doesn't outright kill them with its high damage because why the hell not. Extremely good hero, limited only by his looks. King of CC. Miruru | Multi-target stuff | AoE DPS, CC Dealer | Like Lakrak, but no CC on her passive | Her skill set is made for killing groups of enemies. Annette | Raids | Sub Healer, Sub DPS, Utility, Magic Amp | Giving the team CC immunity | Pretty shit as far as PvP heroes go, and doesn't have a place in a team of 4 in PvE. However, in larger raids where you can use larger teams, she shows her true strength as an extremely handy utility character. Also the only magical mechanic out there. Mitra | Guild Raids | Main DPS | Taking 20 years to ramp up to respectable damage outputs | Does pretty good damage once he ramps up, but ramping up itself is a whole different story.
Even less to say about Mechanics. I actually forgot to include Mitra at first. Goes to say how much presence he has in the game right now.
Mages | Area of Best Performance | Role | Specialty | Additional Notes
---|---|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----
Cleo | Long fights| Main DPS | Screenwide AoE | Free. She needs her ember stacks in order to deal damage. She gets them in the long fights. Needs UW.
Pavel | Everywhere | Main DPS, CC Dealer | Screenwide AoE | Is basically an Ice Cleo, though he doesn't really get stronger the longer the fight is, but has CC on his skills. Probably better than Cleo for the most part.
Maria | Everywhere | Sub DPS, CC Dealer | Sucking the entire enemy team into her black hole hahAHAHA | Queen of CC. She's reaaaaaaally good at her job. Has a lot of other utility as well. Currently meta.
Lorraine | Raids | AoE Dealer | Dealing damage to Dragon Raids | Pretty shit as far as PvP heroes go, but in PvE she's a pretty good dealer. Doubly so for Dragons, where you can see her dps numbers skyrocket with the poison DoT she stacks. Needs UW.
Aisha | Killing the fuck out of things | Main DPS | Master Sparking the fuck out of things | If you haven't noticed, this is the magic Rodina. Currently meta.
Nyx | Multi-target stuff | AoE DPS | Has a dispel. Is also the only physical mage. | Quite trash in auto mode. Needs time to ramp up in PvP. Okay everywhere else.
There's too many damned mages.
Priest | Area of Best Performance | Role | Specialty | Additional Notes ---|---|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|---- Frey | Raids | Barrier-er | Team-wide Barrier | Free. She's less of a healer and more of a shielder. Really good at what she does though, and a lot more useful than what this text here would lead you to think. Team-wide CC immune barrier is pretty damn good. Kaulah | Everywhere | Healer, Buffer | Powerful heal that cannot be cancelled | He's an extremely solid healer with CC, buffs, and strong heals. Can't go wrong with him. Currently meta. Rephy | Everywhere | Healer, Utility | Cleanse, Magic Defense Buff, Mana Buff | Provides one dude one mana orb every 10 seconds, nothing major, but nothing minor too. Baudouin | Difficult content | Healer, Utility | Team-wide invincibility buff | Lets you tank everything under the sun, lets your Rodina and Aisha go ham on the enemy team, at least until someone comes along with a Leo and silences your team. Leo | Killing the fuck out of Baudouin | Baudouin Fucker | Dispelling all positive buffs on the enemy team and silencing them for 3 seconds | Actually has a 50% pdef down debuff on his second skill, so actually works really well in physical teams too Laias | Everywhere | Healer | 3rd skill grants everyone else in the team two mana orbs. Pretty good, but not the best. Her passive skill grants the team m.def and m.crit resist, which is the main reason why people want her. | In PvP you either steamroll the opponent and don't need to press a button on her, or you get whalloped and need to spam her heals and have no time to press her 3.
No, Annette cannot replace your healer, at least when your first starting out. Maybe in an 8 man raid where someone else already has a Priest, can you swap yours for Annette.
Edit: Okay, maybe she can, as long as your team can handle the reduced healing, which, if you are using this guide as a reference on who to pick, probably cannot.
