Learning Pro Tools
So I've started looking at recording studio internships and a lot of them require Pro Tools experience. I am too far down the Logic Pro rabbit hole to want to switch to a new DAW anytime in the near future. However, I really want to learn Pro Tools in order to become a more well rounded recording engineer. What would be the best way to do this without shelling out a small fortune (by my standards) for a PT license. So far my thoughts are:
-
Learn by reading books/watching youtube tutorials
-
Become Pro Tools certified (If I did this would they supply the Pro Tools software while I was taking the class?)
-
Download the free lite version of Pro Tools or do the 30 day free trial and try to learn as much as I can in that short period of time.
-
Find a used license thats still good for a year or so and use that (is this even possible?)
Does anyone have any suggestions on which route would be the best, or a new better idea? Again, not looking to become a long term PT user, just want to learn the ropes so I don't look like an idiot at a studio.
