Should I be writing based on my opinions or the opinions of the masses?

I run a new horror blog, The Blog on Elm St. which contains categorized count down lists of horror movies. I just received a comment about how a viewer disagreed with a list. His criticism was that an entry on my list did not make sense to himself and many others (rotten tomatoes, IMDb, etc) but he explained of a better entry, one I have personally not seen and did not write about because of this. Now I am worried my blog is too opinion based and will turn people away.

TL;DR I didn't rank an awful movie on a list for awful movies because I haven't seen it. Is this appropriate or should I be appealing to the masses and not my own opinions? What has worked for you and your blogs?
