How's the train ride to Chicago these days?

I know there have been lots of delays for Amtrak in the past, just wondering if anybody knows how the trip is lately. I'm considering it for a weekend trip where I will have some extra time in case it is delayed.

I will probably leave my car in AA if that helps.
