Tyrion is going to use Jon to keep Daenerys in check. That was why we got the scene of him and Varys talking about finding a way to make her listen. Last week she was ready to attack the Redkeep, but it was only after talking to Jon does she compromise on burning the Lannister soldiers instead. He's been watching the way she watches him and notices her affections for him. Plus Jon is an honorable man who does the right thing. I see parallels between the way will use Jon to get through to Daenerys and the way he uses Jamie to get to Cersei.
