Scanning Sentinels

Has anyone else noticed you can scan Sentinels now? I keep getting completely different information like "Combat unit" "Scout unit" and so on, and listening activities like "uploading information " or my favourite- "terrain deformation "

Is it worth scanning and logging all the differences?

PS4 and all scanner upgrades (flora and fauna upgrades, +1 2 and 3)
