2x is a lose-lose outcome for Core.

If 2x succeeds, then Core has failed to prevent a HF, failed to prevent a blocksize increase, and probably will fork themselves off.

Yet, if 2x is stopped, then Bitcoin will be even less competitive against Bitcoin Cash and will be extremely likely to lose substantial mining power, if not all mining power.
