Passing by (sort of) on trip to Nebraska, where to stop/stay?

I am driving to Omaha, NE near the end of the month, from Albany. Looks like I'll have to stop for the night somewhere between Buffalo and Cleveland. Does anybody have experience with Airbnb, quick must-see stops, or suggestions regarding traffic and areas/times to avoid?
