First Build Help

Hey all, long time lurker first-time poster here. I am considering starting my first build soon and many people have pointed me toward the Palmetto kits.

I am an experienced shooter and have handled several AR-15s but have only owner pistols up to this point.

The root of my questions is if I purchase the kit (linked below) will I require anything more than a stripped lower to have a "complete" (functioning) AR?

Additionally, are there other kits or build lists that anyone would recommend for a first timer?
