Question: Maximum registered + Wait list credits for a new applicant of fall 2017

As a new entrant into the OMSCS program in Fall 2017, how many course credits should I register + wait list so that I do not get moved to the bottom of the waitlist? Is it 6 or 9 credits? Can someone confirm?
