Anyone riding Bont Semi-race skates?

I used to live on my skates in the 90s, starting with a pair of Lightning IIs and then a pair of five-wheel Racerblades. I was always more into distance and speed than trick skating or hockey. As I got older I mostly stopped skating and around ten years ago I retired the Racerblades for a pair of SpeedMachine 8 4x100s.

Lately I've started doing a little skating and have come to the conclusion that the SpeedMachines never fit me very well - they are way narrow in the front (enough so that the outside of my foot falls asleep), and they are too loose in the heel (no matter what I do my heel seems to have a lot of play). I can skate on them okay and balance them reasonably well without tightening the ankle strap too much but they feel sloppy in the heel. Ratcheting down the top ankle strap doesn't do much good either - it hurts, but my ankle still feels loose.

I'm very rusty but I am interested in getting back into fitness skating - think 5-to-20-mile skates on relatively flat and smooth bike trails. (I'm lucky enough to live close to tons of them). I don't want a full-height boot nor do I want a full-on race skate. I want a skate that will very firmly hold my angle and midfoot while giving a little freedom in the toebox. The Bont Semi-Race looks like exactly what I want but I don't have a place nearby where I can try them out. Is anyone on this sub riding a pair? What do you think of them?
