Running multiple paid Shopify stores off main domain and sub domains. Possible?

Been searching around for this and not sure if its possible because I'm a bit new with shopify.

So on WordPress I have a store. xxxx.com, then I have a completely seperate wordpress installation and store on xxxx.com/store2.

Is this possible on shopify?

For example to have our main shopify store that we pay for on xxxx.com and then purchase a 2nd shopify store and place it on the same url but like xxxx.com/spanish

Basically we are trying to have one store in English and one in Spanish but on 2 separate accounts without having to buy another domain.

Rewriting all the products and info in real Spanish instead of just using an English translator etc.
