Power went out, Items gone?

I host a server on a spare PC, some lightning struck, and caused the power to go out for a min, I open the server back up, and all of our items are gone, the map is fine though, and i see the player dat files in the folder still, any way to recover them, or do i just need to give everyone their stuff back?
