Looking for a Break

I'm an PeopleSoft Functional Consultant, I have a over 10 years of experience, supporting and implementing financial application, across different platforms. I am trained in Workday Financials. I'm very motivated to get a break working in workday technology, with one of it's partner companies, but I find myself constantly edged out by someone who already has a Workday certification (assuming Workday certification is not a requirement for the position). I work in the North Carolina US and would welcome any tips, suggestions or networking opportunities to get there. Thanks,
